Andreas Gursky - The Kuwait Stock Exchange


Amidst a sea of dish-dasha's Bloomberg terminals are scattered over the trading floor of the Kuwait Stock Exchange in a digitally mastered photograph by photographer Andreas Gursky whose work focuses on the effects commercialism and capitalism blowing up his photographs to a huge scale. On display at The White Cube Gallery stand at last week's Frieze

yes, this image was very bold standing there in the white hall of Frieze. Very interesting photographer, as the topic he chooses to focus on is a very grand and internationally inclusive one...
Looking forward to seeing more of his work. And at the moment, the Gulf can very much be his muse - the region is riddled with material for him to photograph (see his pictures of jumeira palm and bahrain race track)!
