The Box sans musique

It's a toy box but the lid geniously doubles as a tabletop, by Japanese designer Oji Masanori who mainly focuses on designing lifestyle goods. I love his whole hand-crafted creamy aesthetic.

Delicate sculptures of musicians made from iron by Japanese designer Koichiro Tokumochi under the brand Saurs. His works have become collectors items in Japan and can be customised into other sports activities for example.

Sock it to me.

When your kid's pester you to get a dog you can turn to Sato Hisao to fob them off with a sock dog. Hisao is another Japanese designer based in London and these canine puppets will hopefully help your kids forget about wanting the real thing. After all, a dog is for life not just for Christmas.

Bike Bondage

They look a bit fetishy and they look a bit like something Wallpaper* would have put in their latest slightly off-key "sex" issue but they're actually hand-stitched leather handlebars for analogue transport enthusiasts. ie. bicycle lovers. London-based Japanese designer Akira Chatani has hand made these smart leather handlebars for proud bicycle enthusiasts. Check his other work out at Ico Design

Lexus L-Finesse at Salone

Following from Lexus's successful collaboration with Nendo last year with their "Diamond chair" this year Lexus invited Architect Sou Fujimoto to design its Lexus L-finesse 'crystallised wind' exhibition as a part of Salone. A full-sized LF-A sports car was on display alongside specially commissioned furniture in acrylic in what Fujimoto was aiming to be an "emotional" installation at the Museo della Permanente gallery in Milan.
