Minimalux - Part II

On September 23rd at 00:01 hrs (don't know why the time is so specific), the 2nd Minimalux collection will go live on www.minimalux.com. British designer and co-founder of forward-thinking furniture brand Established & Sons Mark Holmes launches new products. Miyo Wada likes the pill tube and conical vase made from Borosilicate Glass, silver and copper.

Established & Sons collection was the highlight of Salone. Their stand at La Pelota apparently had to temporarily close due to a fire but the preview was fire free.

Quilt chair by the Bouroullec brothers
The Bouroullec brothers Ronan and Erwan hail from France and have worked with Issey Miyake, Vitra and Magis. Their hexagonal-esque chair is upholstered in hi-tech stretch fabric over a fibreglass shell. Sofa design is usually the dullest thing about Salone so this is a seriously cool lounging option.

Sylvian Willenz - Landmarks
Belgian desiger Sylvain Willenz excels in using natural rubber and his latest collection of lights called Landmarks is inspired by road signage. Thanks to Willenz we can indulge in motorway and road nostalgia from the comfort of our home and not the car.

Salone preview

Established and Sons have JUST released a picture of Matali Crasset's Open Room No. 1, this is still a prototype and they have got seven days to put together the final version for Salone next week. It also might come with a rug. There is an integrated light, shelves and filing cabinets that can be arranged accordingly.

Minamalist Luxury = Minimalux

Phenomenally successful British design brand Established & Son's co-founder and Design director Mark Holmes will launch a new desk and table accessories brand at this year's Salone. The brand is called Minimalux - minimalist designs with luxury materials - 22 carat gold.
