Skins
Designer Ron Arad has just teamed up with Kenzo to create a perfume bottle for the first time. Made from four natural ingredients, orange blossom, bulgarian rose essence, vanilla pod resinoid and frankincense essence the brief was to create the scent of skin. Ron Arad's mother apparently smelt of marble as she was a sculpture so when you smell his take on "skin", it should evoke marble dust.
If you want to buy it, just sidle up to the counters in Paris, Brussels, New York or London and ask for the "unidentified" fragrance (no kidding). Lovely packaging and the zamac metal bottle shape is a particular draw. There are only 2,300 bottles in the world but it doesn't launch til September so you could start queuing now.

How Swede
Trust the Swedes to have the ultimate "design" toys for kids. Swedish company Playsam was founded by Carl Zedig in 1984 and is best known for its "Streamliner" car (above). It also designed a range of toys for handicapped children during the early 1980s. It's range marries pure form with pure function.
Rocking horses, whatever - put your kid on the Rocking Rabbit
Love the little paddle at the side of this yacht, it's going to make its maiden sea voyage that little bit quicker.

Why does the new Canon Powershot E1 series sport so many curves? It's voluptuous design is meant to represent the feminine touch - designed by women for women. There's also a new Easy Mode for amateurs who need help when snapping.
Get the boot.
Vienna-based Ludwig Reiter do bags, shoes and take the sloane factor out of riding boots.
These Vachetta leather brogues for summer are a dusty pink.
This vienna weave "Slatin Pasha" shoe is made from antique calf and mounted on Salzburg lasts with linen lining. This shoe was named after Viennese Rudolf Slatin who fought as an officer of queen victoria in Egypt and Sudan
The Vienna weave translates excellently into a dainty riding boot. The vienna weave is made by weaving 6mm wide leather strips on a loom in a diamond shaped linen weave similar to yarn weaves for cloth fabrics.
